About

Kelvin Jumanne is a contemporary Tanzanian artist born in 1999 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He is known for his highly realistic drawings and his strong interest in the human figure.

Kelvin started drawing when he was six years old. He was inspired by his older brother. What started as a childhood interest slowly grew into a serious passion for art.

In 2019, Kelvin began studying hyperrealism more deeply. He developed his skills through practice, observation, and independent learning.

He works mainly with charcoal, graphite, colored pencil, and other drawing materials. His work focuses on people, emotions, relationships, and everyday human experiences. He often explores themes such as family, love, tenderness, identity, memory, strength, protection, and human connection.

Kelvin believes that realistic drawing is not only about making an image look like a photograph. For him, every detail helps tell a story. He pays close attention to skin, hair, clothing, light, and facial expressions to create drawings that feel personal and alive.

Many of his works focus on African people and experiences. Through his art, he aims to show the beauty, dignity, emotions, and strength of his subjects.

Based in Dar es Salaam, Kelvin continues to develop his artistic style and create works that connect with people through both detail and emotion.

His goal is simple: to create meaningful images that tell human stories and remain memorable long after they are seen.
